A course for all clinical healthcare professionals that expands on the popular Introduction to Wound Assessments and Dressings Selection course. Attendees will be able to assess and manage a complex
or potentially complex wound.
Please note: completion of the course does not confirm competence for non-registered
healthcare professionals. Non-registered staff will require approval from their workplace to
manage complex wounds.
Learning outcomes:
1. Assess a wound confidently.
2. Identify problems, signs of infection and how to manage these.
3. Feel more confident when assessing and planning care for a patient’s wound(s).
4. Understand how and when to refer a patient to other specialists or teams.
5. Be able to pack a cavity wound safely.
6. Understand the minimum documentation recommendations.
This is a live teaching session, presented virtually. Delegates will be sent their meeting details in the week prior to the teaching session.
It is
expected that you will attend the session virtually from a quiet location at
which you will not be disturbed, and you will have access to a microphone and
camera on your device. Every delegate
must have their own device to use throughout this session. This is a requirement for attending this
interactive course.
If you no longer require your place on this course place cancel it so that there is availability for other delegates. To cancel a booking please log into your Learning and Development Centre account, go to the Centre course list and click on the orange box next to the course name.
All
delegates must have their own booking made through the Learning and Development Centre
website to join the meeting. The name on your Zoom account should be
recognisable as the name on your booking. If we cannot identify
delegates they may not be admitted to the session, or certificates may not be
issued after the event.
