In
this online event Kate Smith from Memory Matters (Plymouth) and Dr Stephen
Pearson, Consultant in Older Adult Psychiatry, will do a joint
presentation on strategies that can be used to help manage behavioural
disturbance in patients with dementia in care home settings. This will be
equally beneficial for people working in Domiciliary Care.
This
will include a short presentation to see challenging behaviours
as vital communication,
and gain practical strategies to identify unmet needs and provide more empathetic,
effective care.
There
will also be a short overview of some of the medications that are used in these
situations and side effects to look out for.
Questions
will be welcomed at the end of the presentation and time will be allowed for
this.
It is expected that you will attend the session virtually from a quiet location at which you will not be disturbed, and you will have access to a microphone and camera on your device. Every delegate must have their own device to use throughout this session. This is a requirement for attending this interactive course.
All delegates must have their own booking made through the Learning and Development Centre website to join the meeting. The name on your Zoom account should be recognisable as the name on your booking. If we cannot identify delegates they may not be admitted to the session, or certificates may not be issued after the event.
If you cannot attend the event place cancel your place via your training account to allow other people to make a booking.
